Of all the film review joints in all the websites in all the world, you’ve walked into mine…and I couldn’t be happier!

This blog has been an idea of mine for a long while, ever since I found that some Christian movie review sites seem to focus on how many curse words are in a movie rather than whether that movie is worth watching in spite of any explicit content.

My inspiration is Megan Basham, former film critic at World Magazine, whose reviews I devoured every time my family got a new issue of World in the mail growing up. Her reviews were balanced in the sense that production quality and storytelling were considered in tandem with explicit content and clashes with the Christian worldview. She became a trusted voice in my decision whether or not to see the latest movie.

It is my hope to perhaps be that trusted voice for you!

That being said, it is not my intention for this site to contain reviews of new releases only. Instead, I plan to post reviews for older movies and for TV shows as well, and also to occasionally write posts about how to interact with popular media as a Christian.

Because, let’s be real, being a Christian who likes pop culture is a struggle sometimes…but let’s put a pin in that discussion until a later date!

Another hope I have is for this site to be a place of interaction and discussion when it comes to movies. One of my favorite things is discussing movies with friends, so feel free to comment on and critique my reviews!

I love movies because they challenge us to see our world in new ways. Some have a magical quality in that they can make us feel emotions in harmony with the story–almost like our hearts are puppets on strings in the filmmaker’s hands. Films can show us new worlds, show us a part of our own world we didn’t know existed, or even help us appreciate our own world better. When it comes to the movies, adventure is out there!
